MIA WHELAN

This series was taken on 35mm black and white film, and shows a variety of snap-shots from my family and home life. Family values are very strong in my household and therefore something that I enjoy capturing in my day-to-day when I get the chance to be at home and surrounded by family (which is a lot less now i'm at university many miles away).

 

Shooting these images in black and white was intentional as I felt it added an element of nostalgia to the overall feel. Furthermore, the lighting in the shots of my family home in Dorset emphasise a homely and warming characteristic which can be felt in these spaces.
